Our History

The story of our church is  full of extraordinary God moments.

It all started back in 2007, when Pastor Eric and Kim Petree took the lead after Leon Petree retired from years in ministry. From the very beginning, it was clear that Citygate Church was aiming to make a big impact in the kingdom. They brought us remarkable illustrated sermons and launched their first worship album, all aimed at inspiring and encouraging their growing community.

As the church continued to grow, in 2008-2009, the Towne Street Campus was remodeled, making even more room for growth. And from 2013-2015, Citygate Church went mobile, reaching even more people throughout the tristate area with the message of the gospel, without sacrificing the authentic spirit that always made Citygate Church so special!

Even while mobile, the Holy Spirit remained supreme in each service. Huge thanks go out to our dedicated crew members who faithfully served week in and week out to make set up and tear down possible through years of not having a central church home.

In 2015, Citygate groups were launched, providing an opportunity to truly do life with one another through community and fellowship. This was followed by a monumental celebration of ten years of faithfulness by Pastors Eric and Kim in 2017.

But the best was yet to come. In 2018, the official Lebanon campus was opened, signaling a HUGE moment that showed the evidence of God’s faithfulness and the start of something brand new! Citygate had their first Rooftop Revival and started their annual Wonder of Christmas production. They also launched a television ministry. God never stopped opening doors.

In 2021, Citygate Forest Park opened, giving even more space to reach the lost and continue inspiring and encouraging many throughout their journey. Today, Citygate Church continues to reach even more people, with a future that looks brighter than ever. It’s an exciting time, and we invite you to be a part of it all!
