The goal of fasting is to draw closer to God. Biblical fasting always calls us to eliminate distractions for a spiritual purpose; it hits the reset button of our soul and renews us from the inside out. Fasting also enables us to celebrate the goodness and mercy of God while preparing our hearts for the good things God desires to bring into our lives. Remember, your personal fast should present a level of challenge, most importantly, to seek God in prayer and follow what the Holy Spirit leads you to do.
At Citygate, we will observe our fast from sundown on January 4 through sundown on January 14, in alignment with the traditional Jewish days. We invite everyone to join us beginning January 5, participating from sunup to sundown in a partial, liquids-only fast. Over these ten days, we are believing God for supernatural favor, renewed vision, spiritual growth, and financial breakthrough.
