September 25 – October 5

(From Sundown to Sundown)

A time to: REPENT of sin, REFOCUS priorities, and RECOMMIT to living a God first life

Fast: Give up something you really enjoy (food/coffee/sugar), speaking/listening to anything negative & social media to seek more of God

2 Chronicles 7:14-15 (Restoration, Healing & Revival follow Repentance)

If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, & I will forgive their sin & will heal their land. Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place.

Hosea 10:12

Sow righteousness for yourselves, reap the fruit of unfailing love, and break up your unplowed ground; for it is time to seek the Lord, unit He comes and showers His righteousness on you.

DAY 1 – Read Hebrews 12

Examine yourself. Ask God to reveal sin that is separating you from Him & things that are holding you back.

Hebrews 12:1   … let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up.

Psalm 139:23-24   Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me…

What Does it mean to Repent? Repent – to pant; to sigh or to turn; return. A genuine repentance is a radical change in one’s attitude toward sin and God. A conscious, moral separation, and a personal decision to forsake sin and to enter into fellowship with God.

DAY 2 – Read Romans 8

Ask God to show you areas you have compromised or lowered your standards. Ask Him to strengthen your convictions & make you more aware of compromise so you can be used by Him. Holiness opens the way for the fulness of God’s presence in your life.

Romans 8:1   In view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy & pleasing to God—this is your true & proper worship.

Psalm 51:1-3   Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. For I acknowledge my transgressions, & my sin is always before me. Against You, You only, have I sinned, & done this evil in Your sight.

DAY 3 – Read Psalm 139

Search and cleanse your heart today. What idols do I have in my heart? What do you desire more than God?

Psalm 139:23-24   Search me God, & know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me…

Psalm 51:10-12   Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me away from Your presence, and do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation…

DAY 4 – Read 1 Thessalonians 5

Renew & purify your mind. Are my thoughts pleasing to God & do they produce Godly fruit/actions? What am I setting before my eyes that is producing my thoughts?

Colossians 3:2   Set your minds on things above, not earthly things. For you died & your life is now hidden in Christ

Romans 12:2   Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is–his good, pleasing and perfect will.

DAY 5 – Read Ephesians 4

Align your words with God’s. Am I speaking life or death? Add the phrase “And that’s how I want it” to everything you say.

Psalm 19:14   Let the words of my mouth, & the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in your sight, O Lord ..

Proverbs 18:21   Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit.

DAY 6 – Read Galatians 5

Am I living a life led by the Holy Spirit? Does my life invite & honor the presence of the Holy Spirit daily?

Galatians 5:16   But I say, live by the Spirit & you will not carry out the desires of the flesh

1 Corinthians 3:16   Do you not know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you?”

DAY 7 – Read Matthew 6

Seek God first & most. What areas do I need to die to self so I can have more of God? Do I desire God above my own fleshly desires? Who & what am I giving the most and best of my day, thoughts, money, time and energy?

John 3:30   He must increase, I must decrease.

Matthew 6:33   Seek first the kingdom of God & His righteousness, & all these things will be given to you as well.
